The Magda Berliner women's ready to wear collection launched with the Autumn/Winter 2001 season. Re interpreting vintage fabrics with youthful,feminine silhouettes with a hint of humour , the collection's first retailers included Louis,Boston, Barney's New York and Joyce Hong Kong. Evolving from the initial philosophy of infusing the familiar to a
fresh garment, the label has blossomed into a recognizable favorite amongst the fashion indies. Staples of each collection include: "one of a kind lace dresses" and "convertible/reversible "pieces. The use of laser cut leather and fur have also become part of the Magda Berliner identity.

The Spring/Summer 2008 collection mixes metallic brocades, african wax prints and vibrant stretch lace. Inspired by the author and traveler Lesley Branch, who died
earlier this year at the age of 102; this season is a bit savage, decadent and above all modern. Known as a the author of the biography of four 19th century women who
cast aside convention to seek adventure and romance, I found her an appropriate model for the current season.
